What Vocatio Means
Vocatio is a Latin word, pronounced as ‘vo-caa-tio’.
It means ‘a call or summons’ for an occupation to which a person is specially drawn to or for which he or she is suited.
To us, Vocatio is a community based organisation that empowers our young people to lead a curious, creative and fulfilling life.

Our Identity
Vocatio is a not for profit, independent organisation. It is devoted to developing a world in which the youth create and follow sustainable career paths to leverage the full spectrum of their life and work. Vocatio is an after-school provider of life and career education programmes and career counselling services for students in the age group 9-19 years.

Our Commitment
Vocatio aims to create an ecosystem of support for the students and their primary care givers, to enable a network and a pool of resources that will help them make informed, realistic and optimum choices in their life and careers. At Vocatio, all our programmes aim for three key achievements in our students: Greater Clarity About Who They Are - their personality, their interests, their values The Skills Set They Can Master Best based on their unique personality, aptitudes and interests. Our People
Vocatio is founded by Tasneem Saiyed, a psychologist, whose passion lies in learning, interacting and working with the young. Tasneem was raised in Mumbai and completed her Bachelors with Psychology Major from University of Mumbai. She received a Masters in Psychology from Agra University. She also has a specialised post graduate diploma in counselling from University of Mumbai that started her lifelong interest in the area of careers and life choices. She completed a one year course in Early Child Care and Education in UK awarded by the University of Hertfordshire which allowed her to extensively study the National Curriculum and the UK school system. Tasneem has worked in a Child Guidance Centre as a Counselling Psychologist and then in the field international education from 1992 onwards.
